Izzy frances

Izzy Frances is a writer, songwriter, singer and neuroscientist from the UK.

 

Her writing crosses fantasy and fact, with essays exploring the interconnectedness of earth and human health, and fiction that explores magic, nature, and the difficulties of owning who we really are. She is currently preparing to publish her debut fantasy novel, The Light of the Dawn. 

 

Musically, Izzy has been consistently supported by BBC Introducing, with all her songs featured by them to date. Her songwriting has been reviewed as an 'emotive take on songwriter pop that's sure to make people take notice', 'stunning', and 'enchanting', as she lyrically tackles topics including love, abuse, self-acceptance and nature, across emotive, energised and hook-y pop melodies. Notably, her song Beautiful World supported the Sacred Nature Initiative. Izzy's latest single, stay with me hit number 9 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts while an earlier single Safety reached number 27 on the iTunes S/S Charts. Izzy was also a semi-finalist for both the 2020 International Songwriting Competition and the UK's 2020 National Songwriting Competition.

As well as songwriting Izzy works in neuroscientific and psychological research, examining how nutrition impacts early infant neurocognitive development. This work has fuelled Izzy's desire to write songs that promote health and acceptancccec and that empower the listener, giving her a unique and refreshing perspective which Izzy brings into her songwriting.
